Horsham’s West Street Enhancements and Christmas Celebration
Horsham’s Christmas Celebration and West Street’s enhancements are to be unveiled Saturday 16th November, 10am to 4pm.
The planned event will entertain and educate as the council seeks to give visitors pre-Christmas fun and an even greater sense of place in the town’s evolving history. As well as Christmas lights and entertainment, there will be horse-drawn carriage rides along the Causeway, historical and horse-inspired story-telling, local authors and artists, West Street historical walking tours and children’s activities.
The West Street enhancements will show wave paving designs, horse shoes and other branding set into the pavement. The lighting has also been improved, including feature lights highlighting the architecture and historical buildings. There will be new contemporary street furniture, topiary style planting, and an improvement to shop fronts and signage. This will all bring a fresh contemporary, modern feel to the street that is much needed.
Lots more housing developments have been built around the Horsham area, so it is important that the town centre is developed and supported to meet the need of additional demands. This will be good news for businesses in Horsham.
