Have a flippin good time at Horsham’s Charity Pancake Race
In Horsham we are lucky that there is so much going on for us to take part in. Tuesday 17th February will see local businesses presenting their most bizarre garments and taking part in the Horsham Rotary Charity Pancake Race in the Carfax.
Once again Children’s TV star Dave Benson Philips will be Race Commentator and helping to entertain the children. All proceeds from the day go to charities and last year Chestnut Tree House, the Dame Vera Lynn Trust, St Catherine’s Hospice, Springboard and Set4Success all received monies from the event because they were nominated by the winning teams.
The course encourages a sensible mix of skill and speed and is great to watch. There will be cups and prizes awarded to winners on the day including best fancy dress, best over 40’s team and best flipper!
There will be Children’s Pancake Races at 1.45pm-2.35pm. There will be three age categories – 5-6, 7-8 and 9-11. This will also take place in the Carfax and the quickest three in each age group will receive a prize.
The final date for entries is Friday 13 February and you can enter by emailing [email protected]. Entrants accepted on a first come first served basis so don’t delay in getting involved.
A children’s activity marquee will be open from 10am – 3pm with a range of fun activities, a worst wooly competition and other charity stalls for the whole family. Kids will be able to make their own wooly bobbles to decorate their jumpers or create their own pancake recipe – all for free!
Last but not at all least, we hope you’ve stocked up on syrup, lemon and sugar for Pancake Day on Tuesday 17th.
