Parent & Toddler Activities in Horsham
After a family-filled Christmas and New Year, you’re probably left wondering what 2016 holds for you and yours. If you’re a mother or father to young children and want to get them more active and socialising with other kids, take a look at some of the best activities in Horsham for you to all get involved:
Parent and Toddler Group, The Holbrook Club
Not just a one off, every Thursday morning from 9:30-11:30 you’ll find a friendly group of parents and toddlers meeting at The Holbrook Club, making use of the large indoor space. Creating a fun and healthy environment, the club organises a bouncy castle, offers up tricycles and even has a creative corner full of colouring books and crayons.
As the kids use up some of their energy in this safe space, you can take some time to relax with other parents and enjoy a tea or coffee. If you’re a member it’s £2.50 and non-members only have to pay £3.50. If you have a baby, it’s also good to know the NHS run a Baby Clinic here from 10:00-11:30. If you have any questions, you can contact the club on 01403 751150.
Baby and Toddler Music Classes, London Road Methodist Church
Music Bus, a company with over sixteen years of experience, hosts a music session at the London Road Methodist Church every Monday, 9:30-10:30. This hour long session is for 3+yrs, as the children need to be confident walkers.
During the session, your child experiences a thirty minute workshop, followed by a social session for all the parents to meet and gain new friends. The aim of the class is to introduce children to music early on, teaching them songs and activities that help with speech development, language skills, numeracy and memory. They’ll also get a chance to play simple instruments.
You can initially book a free trial session by calling 01403 240842 and prices thereafter are available on request.
Toddler Swimming Lessons, Bubbles Swim School
Located in Barns Green, your child can attend lessons from the age of 8 weeks, all the way up to 10yrs. The courses are designed to improve both parent and toddler water safety skills, as well as different swimming strokes and techniques. Parents can take part or watch from the poolside seating area, confident in the skills of the ASA approved instructors.
As swimming is a great fitness tool for life and also fun, it’s an active way for toddlers to develop their skills early on. With an atmosphere built to be warm and friendly, all abilities are welcome. Classes are available seven days a week, which is a bonus as you can fit it around your schedule.
The Little Crafters Studio, Blackbridge Lane
If you and your toddler want to get more into the arts this year, consider dropping in to this craft studio where being messy is the aim of the game. Children can paint, make badges, mould with clay, create foot prints on canvases and a lot more. Turn up and you’ll be welcomed, with prices starting from £1.00. It’s a great way to try something new and brighten up the remainder of the winter months.
If you’re interested and would like to book rather than walk in, you can find all the contact information and further details here.
