Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games at Bluecoat Sports

On the 18th – 20th March, Bluecoat Sports are hosting the Sport Relief Swimathon 2016, where you can take up the challenge of swimming to raise money for a great charity.

With events taking place up and down the country, all sponsor money is used to make a difference in the UK and abroad, ensuring children have access to an education, life saving vaccines and other worthy causes.

Taking Part

If you’d like to get involved, you can apply either as an individual, or as part of a team of up to five people. When you apply, which can you do here, you don’t have to state your distance as this is decided later on.

The distances to choose from are 1.5k (60 lengths), 2.5k (100 lengths) and 5k (200 lengths) in the club’s state of the art 25 metre swimming pool. You can also pick your swimming speed from slow, medium slow, medium fast and fast, which helps with scheduling the swims.

Tickets and Location

To cover hosting fees and staff there’s a small cover charge for the event of £12.00 for adults, which goes down to £9.00 with concessions. The club, situated in Christ’s Hospital, has parking and is easily reached by National Rail.

The swims will be organised during the club’s opening hours of 6.45am to 10.00pm and spectators are able to attend and provide support for the swimmers.
